The next time you take a bath, try this relaxing meditation to elevate your self-care to the next level!
One of my favorite things to do during each season of the year is to create a day of ritual. Summer is here and making it a perfect time to align with the growth and light energy of both the sun and the Summer Solstice. Trying out these summer rituals for renewal is a great way to charge up your intentions.
I find that it helps to pick a day ahead of time, one where you know that you can incorporate these simple rituals throughout the day. The blending of these inner and outer self-care experiences throughout the day and evening will leave your mind, body, and spirit feeling invigorated and at peace.
Let's get started!
Morning Sunrise Yoga
Begin your day with a series of sun salutations and watching the sunrise. Here are some simple beginner poses you can do that will wake up your body and help ground you for your day of ritual. You can learn these simple poses online if this is your first doing yoga.
2. Forward Fold
3. Flat Back
4. Plank
Take time after finishing your series of poses to sit in a yogi seated position and experience the energy of the sunrise and new day. Set your intention for this day. What do you wish to bring into your life today and what do you wish to let go of?
Gratitude Journal
Now it’s time to take out your journal and spend some time in reflection and gratitude. I always start and end my day with my gratitude journal as gratitude is the elixir of life. It brings us more to be grateful for. Write down as many things as you can think of that bring you joy, bliss, and gratitude. When we do this practice and it becomes a way of life, we are creating a way to channel positive flow no matter what we are experiencing in daily life.
Pick Your Tarot Card of the Day
Spread your tarot cards out face down and take a minute or two to concentrate on what you need clarity on in your life today and choose a card. Let the card speak to you and allow your own intuition to give you the message of the day. Here are some examples of what the cards may be telling you.
The Magician ~ You have the power to create the life you desire by your own thoughts, words and actions. Create with intention.
The Star ~ Today make a wish and focus your thoughts on the highest outcome for this wish. Trusting you will align with all that is necessary to manifest this into the physical.
Two of Cups ~ Focus on self-love and nurturing yourself. The more inner love you have the more you will attract love from others in your life
The Chariot ~ Today is the time of movement and change. Take action steps that facilitate a move or shift in your current life.
The Fool ~ This is a time for new beginnings and childlike faith. Use this day of ritual to trust the messages you receive throughout the day to facilitate a goal or passion.
Hydration and Nutrition
I always suggest that during this ritual day to drink a lot of water with lemon or cucumber slices. Prepare delicious simple meals with seasonal fruits and vegetables. It’s important to nourish the body alongside the soul.
Spend Time in Nature
If it is available to you take a walk in nature to clear the mind and free the soul. Get outside and absorb the fire energy of the sun. I suggest lying down right in the grass. Take your shoes off and just lay there. Breathe intentionally and look at the sky, listen to the sounds of nature and simply be. Remember a ritual does not have to be complex. The simpler the better.
Write and Burn
This is a super powerful ritual that I do every season. Write ten things you will release this summer to make room for ten more sacred ideas to grow. When you are finished, burn the paper in a contained sacred fire ceremony. Send what you release out with gratitude and welcome the new in with excitement and an open heart.
Create A Summer Ritual Bath
During the summer months I love to create a ceremonial tea bath. This year I created a mixture of herbs and flowers to make a tea that I put into a muslin tea sachet. I put that right into my bathtub to infuse the bath water and myself soak in it while I listen to soft music or a meditation. Feel free to use the meditation I have recorded for you.
Here are the ingredients I used. You can find many of them in your pantry and online.
Pink Himalayan salt
Organic Coconut milk powder
Organic chamomile
Organic lavender
4-6 dried orange slices
1 scoop of pink rose petals
My favorite thing to do at the end of the ritual day is to watch the sunset and then draw a bath. This mixture will awaken your intuition, deepen your connection to your inner wisdom and nourish your body and soul. Enjoy!
I invite you to reach out to me anytime at Extension #4085 for a summer solstice reading. Blessings, Skye
