While there won’t be any wild shifts and none of the dramatic changes or the seesaw ride that 2023 took us on, there will be two significant shifts. One you have already had a taste of and the other will be a new but also important but calming experience. Last year saw a lot of movement in the normally stable outer planets and one of those shifts was Pluto, who, after 15 years in your relationship sector, left in March 2023, something that saw him return to your financial sector for the first time in our lifetime. Pluto is the planet of change and revolution, so this gave you a chance to look at how you might want to change things up on the financial front while leaving you with plenty to think about and mull over when he retrograded back out less than three months later.
This put Pluto back in your relationship sector, where since his return in 2008 he has been working to create more authentic relationships. However, this has meant that no planet has been able to move through Cancer without clashing as they moved through. It was that constant putting a balance between your personal and relationship needs to the test that has given you a better sense of what you want from your relationships and what they need from you, which Pluto has used to help all your relationships grow and evolve. Pluto will leave again on 21st January, the same day that the Sun will also leave your relationship sector and return to your financial sector. The Sun is only here for a month but apart from retrograding back into your relationship sector to create some closure from 2nd September to 20th November, Pluto will remain in your financial sector for the next 20 years.
This will have a positive impact when Jupiter leaves your sector of friendship, teamwork, and networking on 26th May and returns to a nostalgic and reflective part of your chart to begin the wind-down of your current 12-year Jupiter cycle of expansion. This is in preparation for Jupiter’s return to Cancer in June 2025 and the start of a new 12-year Jupiter cycle. This will put Jupiter and Pluto in harmony from the start, and a combination of Jupiter’s focus on winding things down and the fact that Pluto is no longer putting pressure on the planets as they move through Cancer this year, is likely to lower your stress levels while making it harder to sweat the small stuff. Meanwhile, one planet that was on the move last year but is now staying put is Saturn, who is now settled into his three-year visit to your sector of adventure, travel, learning, and discovery.
In the second half of last year, all the planetary activity was on the income side of the financial fence, with a combination of Mars making his first visit in two years and Venus’ longest retrograde phase in your income sector in our lifetime keeping things continuously active from May to October 2023. While your income sector has been empty for over two months by the time you move into the New Year, with no planetary activity on the other side of the financial fence either and a lot of planetary activity on the job front, something that is still playing out, this has kept the momentum going. However, while you continue to benefit from what has been invested last year, the money gods are getting ready to shift the focus back to the other side of the financial fence.
It starts in one fell swoop, when within the space of just a few hours, both the Sun and Pluto, the planet of change and revolution, will return to your financial sector on 21st January. Pluto had returned in March 2023, but the planet of change and transformation’s first visit in our lifetime was more a chance to tip your toe in the water before he retrograded back out again less than three months later. Pluto will do the same this year, but this time, when he retrogrades back out on 2nd September, it will only be for 11 weeks, returning on 20th November and then not leaving until 2044. This will put continuous planetary activity in your financial sector, the side of the financial fence where the focus is on what you do with and how you manage the money you have for the next two decades.
However, you won’t be at that point until later in the year, and with the Sun returning to your financial sector with Pluto, Mercury, on 5th February, Mars on 13th February, and Venus, the planet of money, on 17th February, there will be a lot of support in these early months. Mars will be the last to leave on 23rd March, by which time Pluto will have been here for two months and will be ready to fly solo until Venus returns to join him again on 7th December. Meanwhile, there are two periods of planetary activity on the income side of the financial fence, and these will be the most potentially lucrative months of 2024. The first is a period from 3rd July to 9th September, which is when the Sun, Mercury, and Venus will move through. The second period is from 4th November 2024 to 24th February 2025, when Mars could make some real breakthroughs.
With the Sun always spending the first three weeks of January in your relationship sector, the focus will always be on your relationships from the start. With two New and two Full Moons here this year and with Pluto finally ending a journey that began in 2008, this suggests that this entire year will be a defining one on the relationship front and the closing of a chapter. After 15 years, Pluto, the planet of change and transformation, left your relationship sector last March, only to retrograde back in again less than three months later. Pluto is still here as you move into the New Year but will leave with the Sun on 21st January. With Mars in your relationship sector from 5th January to 13th February, Mercury from 14th January to 5th February, and Venus from 23rd January to 17th February, this is when the planets of passion, communication, and love will come together to create the real magic.
This will also leave your relationship sector empty, until a pair of Full Moons, the first on 22nd June and the second a month later, on 21st July, will bring some important wakeup calls after what will have been your longest stretch with no planetary activity in your relationship sector in 16 years. However, this is not the last you have seen of Pluto, for he will retrograde back in for one last chance to regroup from 2nd September to 20th November, this time for the last time in our lifetime. With Venus coming full circle for her second visit of the year from 12th November to 7th December, she will return in time to become the last planet to contact Pluto here in our lifetime.
Venus will still be here when the Sun returns from 21 December 2023 to 20th January 2025, by which point, with Pluto gone, a nearly 17-year chapter will have come to an end. Meanwhile, it is just as Pluto is dipping back into your relationship sector for one last time that things will start brewing on the romantic front. Venus, who was the last planet to leave your romantic sector in 2023 when she left on 30th December, will be the first to return on 23rd September, less than nine months later. Venus is only here until 18th October and while these will be the most romantically charged weeks of the year, the Sun will keep the solar spotlight on matters of the heart until 22nd November.
While the Sun will always leave your busy work sector just before Christmas each year, there is often some spillover into the New Year, with the tail end of Venus or Mercury’s visit often still playing out in early January. However, not to the degree that you have this year, for you begin the year with Venus, Mercury, Mars, and the dwarf planet Ceres, all in your work sector and all playing a different role in getting this new professional year off to a busy but powerful start. Mercury had left your work sector in December, but a retrograde turn saw him return and until leaving on 14th January, this allows you to begin the year with your head in the game from the start. Mars, who returned in November for his first visit in two years, will leave on 5th January and not due to return again until late 2025, he is on a mission to get things moving.
Venus, who didn’t return to your work sector until 30th December 2023, will keep working to attract opportunities until leaving on 23rd January, while the dwarf planet Ceres’ last deep dive into your needs and priorities on the job front for another four years is here until 8th February. What began in November 2023 has a long reach into 2024, and as every planet moving through will form a friendly aspect to the North Node and the dwarf planet Eris, the warrior princess of the cosmos in your career sector before leaving, this gets this whole professional year off to a good start. This will leave your work sector empty, but with Venus returning on 18th October, Mercury on 3rd November, and the Sun on 22nd November, and with the last not leaving until 8th January 2025, this will make the early and latter months of the year the most important on the job front.
While Mars won’t return to your work sector until later next year, he will be with the other planets when they start returning to your career sector, just over a month before the last planet leaves your work sector on 8th February. The first of the faster planets to reach your career sector will be Mercury, who will return on 10th March for what should be a 14-to-15-day visit. Instead, a retrograde turn will keep Mercury here until 16th May, during which time the Sun and Venus will move through, with both benefiting from his intellectually savvy edge. Mars will return on 1st May and as he won’t leave until 9th June, he will keep the momentum going. Meanwhile, having the North Node here will turn an ordinary New Moon on 9th April into a total solar eclipse, with the promise of major new beginnings.
