To say that this new professional and financial year is off to a good start is a major understatement. By the time you move into the New Year, Pluto—the planet of change and transformation—is more than just back in your income sector. After false starts in 2023 and 2024, he is here now for the next 20 years and ready for a fresh start—but now you have the advantage of having a huge amount of experience under your belt. Pluto returns to your work sector in partnership with Jupiter—the planet of luck and expansion. These two spent the middle months of 2024 closely aligned with one another. Back then, Jupiter had just returned to begin your biggest year for job growth and expansion in over a decade. And although he’s in retrograde motion until 4th February, Jupiter will be ready to bring things home before leaving on 10th June. Having to come to a standstill in order to turn direct might make January a slow month on the job front, but take advantage of that—because it won’t last.
Income and job potential go hand in hand—and not just until Jupiter leaves in June. On 7th July, with the Sun in your work sector, Uranus returns for the first time in eight decades. Uranus is all about upholding your personal truth while being able to work through the laws of synchronicity to put things on the right path—often through unexpected, serendipitous, or eureka moments. Uranus will retrograde back out again on 8th November, returning in April 2026 and staying until 2033. While here, he’ll be closely aligned with Pluto. Surprisingly, instead of the connection between income and job potential ending when Jupiter leaves your work sector on 10th June, it increases dramatically in the second half of the year. However, until he leaves a playful and creative part of your chart on 7th July, where he has been since 2019, Uranus will be putting guardrails in place to balance work and play.
Other major planets on the move this year are Neptune and Saturn, with this unlikely duo set to remain a dream team even though there is a shift in focus. Neptune is the planet of hopes and dreams and likes to be as far removed from reality as possible; Saturn is all about keeping it real, discipline, and personal responsibility. They have been working as a team since Saturn joined Neptune in your communication sector, where he has been since 2012. It’s that mix of being able to have a dream and the means to do whatever it takes for as long as it takes that has made them a formidable force in all aspects of communication. They are going to take this show on the road when Neptune leaves and returns to your home and family sector on 31st March, followed by Saturn on 25th May.
With both sides of the financial fence powering up—especially in the early months of the year—there might be a need to buckle up, but you’ve already had a taste of this. When Mars—the planet of passion and the warrior planet of the cosmos—returned to your financial sector in September 2024, Pluto—the planet of change, transformation, and rebellion—had just left your income sector a few days earlier, so their paths didn’t cross. Pluto returned in November and is in your income sector until 2044, but any planet in your financial sector is only going to clash in the very early degrees. And at the time, Mars was clear of that. However, Mars is in retrograde motion; it is just before retrograding back out on 6th January that they will clash.
This will be the first time that the planets of war and revolution have ever been in your two money houses at the same time, let alone moving into opposition. This could create some financial tension in the early days of the year, but this will quickly fade away when Mars leaves. Venus—the planet of money, desire, and attraction—will start the year in your income sector but leave on 3rd January. This will be coupled with a lot of motivation on both sides of the financial fence. Mars’ retrograding back out means that once he is in direct motion again, he will return for a complete do-over from 18th April to 17th June. However—with Mars gone—you will have a chance to place all your attention on the income side of the financial fence and create an empowered start to Pluto’s first full year here.
Venus will leave on 3rd January, but the dwarf planet Ceres—who returned with her in December 2024—will continue her first deep dive into your income needs and priorities in four years until she leaves on 24th February. This will leave Pluto on his own, and, apart from the Moon’s monthly visits, it will stay that way for the rest of the year. Pluto is playing a long game, giving you 20 years to work with the planet of change and transformation. Meanwhile, when Mars comes back to fire things up on the financial front, he will once again clash with Pluto when he returns to your financial sector on 18th April. However, this time, Mars will be in direct motion and at top speed, so any financial tension will be brief and is going to fire up your financial passions and fighting spirit. Mars is here until 17th June; after that, the Sun, Mercury, and Venus will keep things running on the financial front from 27th June to 19th September.
On both the romantic and relationship fronts, the planets suggest that you will move into the New Year with business as usual. However, the reality is entirely different. On the relationship front, this means no planetary activity in your relationship sector, as you might expect at this time of year. And on the romantic front, it means Uranus—in your romantic sector since 2019—is on his own and in retrograde until 31st January, taking your heart on a nostalgic trip down memory lane. Things should stay this way until the Sun returns to your romantic sector in April and to your relationship sector in June for what should be your ordinary annual updates. Yet, on both the romantic and relationship fronts, change is in the air.
You will feel this first in your relationship sector, beginning on 6th January when Mars—the planet of passion and the warrior planet—retrogrades back into your relationship sector after a two-month absence. He usually stays for just six weeks, not returning again for another two years. This time around, however, Mars has already spent two months here before leaving in November 2024. Then he returns once more to spend another three and a half months, not leaving until 18th April. Mars leaves before Mercury—the planet of communication—returns on 9th June, and Jupiter returns a day later to begin your biggest year for relationship growth in over a decade. Still, Mars, his passion, and his encouragement to fight for what you want in your relationships will create your new path forward.
When Venus returns from 31st July to 26th August, the planets of love and luck come together. This is when the real magic will happen. Meanwhile, although this will put a strong focus on your relationships, Uranus is quietly preparing to leave your romantic sector. Uranus won’t leave until 7th July, and with Venus moving through from 6th June to 5th July, his final month is likely to be when the true magic unfolds. Uranus will return on 8th November, but only to tie up loose ends. The planet of surprise, synchronicity, and the unexpected leaves again in April 2026, not to return again in our lifetime. Uranus is part of a major shift that the outer planets are undertaking over the course of 2025.
As you move into 2025, you are just past the halfway point of Jupiter’s 13-month quest for job growth and expansion that began with his return to your work sector in May 2024 and will end when he leaves on 10th June. As Jupiter will begin the year in retrograde motion and not turn direct until 4th February, it might feel like things are slow to take off. But, considering just how much is going to be packed into this one year, this is a major advantage. There will also be a feeling that Jupiter isn’t in too much of a hurry—even when he turns direct. At the time, this won’t make sense, because once the planet of luck and expansion leaves on 10th June, it will be over a decade until he returns. So Jupiter should be in a hurry to tie up loose ends before he leaves, but as that time approaches, there will be a feeling that this is not the end of the story.
As he does at this time each year, the Sun will move through from 21st May to 21st June, with the solar spotlight on your work situation, job matters, and options during Jupiter’s final weeks and for an additional 11 days after he leaves. Even Mercury will move through from 26th May to 9th June, giving you everything needed to keep your head in the game and think on your feet during Jupiter’s final weeks. Once the Sun and Mercury leave, your work sector will be empty for the first time since April 2024. But instead of being ready to tie up loose ends, it is going to feel like what you have been doing is preparing for a new beginning. Part of that feeling that there is more to come is Venus, who returns on 5th July to fuel your job, attract opportunities, and steer things in a lucrative direction.
Two days later, everything will change and start to make sense. On 7th July, Uranus—the planet of surprise, synchronicity, and the unexpected—will return to your work sector for the first time in eight decades. Uranus is only here for four months and will retrograde out on 8th November. However, once direct he will return again in April 2026, making this his home until May 2033. The 13 months Jupiter will spend here is just a stepping stone. While Uranus is here, things will start opening up on the career front. Whether it is Mars’ return to your career sector on 7th August, Mercury’s return on 18th September, the Sun’s return on 23rd September, or Venus’ return on 14th October, they will all spend their early days at a friendly aspect to Uranus. The last to leave will be Venus on 7th November, coincidently a day after Uranus retrogrades back out of your work sector and four months to the day since they first met up there on 7th July.
