2025 is a unique and unprecedented year. While it is a year of major change, what makes it so extreme is that almost every planet in the solar system is on the move. Of the two exceptions, one of those made its move just six weeks before you moved into the New Year; the other has been fixed in position for over nine decades and will be for decades to come. The true-blue planets that provide a steady, unchanging background year after year are all on the move; in many cases, they’re playing musical chairs. The one constant is the dwarf planet Eris, who has been in your sector of adventure, travel, learning, and discovery for over nine decades—but even she is about to get a major boost. The warrior princess of the cosmos will no longer be solely responsible for keeping the spirit of adventure alive when Neptune—the planet of hopes and dreams—returns on 31st March for his first visit in our lifetime, and Saturn joins them for his first visit in three decades on 25th May.
By then, the faster planets will have returned or moved through, creating a groundswell of momentum that makes this one of the most powerful areas of your life in 2025—and for decades to come. On 1st September, Saturn retrogrades back out and into your financial sector, where he began the year. Neptune does the same on 8th November. But, when Neptune returns in January 2026, he’ll stay there until 2039. And Saturn, who returns in February 2026, will remain in your sector of adventure, travel, learning, and discovery until April 2028. Until then, they have unfinished business to take care of in your financial sector, where Neptune has been since 2012. However, it wasn’t until Saturn returned in March 2023 that you were able to use his resolve to do whatever it takes, for as long as it takes, and finally turn your financial dreams into reality.
This puts a major focus on your financial situation and money matters in the early months of the year. Venus—the planet of money—returns to your financial sector on 3rd January to get the ball rolling and spends an extraordinary amount of time there, spread out over two visits that won’t run their course until 1st May. Considering that Venus would usually spend just 24 days here and just how critical the timing is, these are clearly the most powerful months of this financial year—and of the period that everything until now has led up to, and everything from now will lead on from. By New Year’s Day, Pluto will have been in your relationship sector for six weeks and is here until 2044, the first of the big changes to come. Another big change is on the professional front with Uranus, who has been in your career sector since 2019, leaving on 7th July and returning to your sector of friendship, teamwork, and networking.
When the lunar nodes return to your two money houses on 12th January, their influence will be subtle but pronounced. The real impact will only be revealed when their presence turns ordinary New and Full Moons into eclipses.
The first will be a total lunar eclipse in your income sector on 14th March, at what is often the least lucrative point in any year. This era occurs right in the heart of some of the most important and active months of the year on the other side of the financial fence. For the most part, though, whether it is the North Node’s return to your financial sector or the South Node’s return to your income sector, until leaving in July 2026, they will work to create a balance between money coming in and money going out. This feat might be more achievable than you think this year.
With Neptune—the planet of hopes and dreams—in your financial sector since 2012 and Saturn—the hard taskmaster of the cosmos and the planet of personal responsibility—since March 2023, there has been continuous planetary activity on this side of the financial fence. This is the side that affects what you do with your money and how you manage the money you have. Though very different planets, having Saturn and Neptune here at the same time will give you the resolve to do whatever it takes—for as long as it takes—to turn your financial dreams into reality. While they won’t leave for good until early 2026, they will begin transitioning out, with Neptune leaving on 31st March and Saturn on 25th May.
Until Saturn returns on 1st September, this will leave your financial sector empty for the first time in nearly 13 years. When Mars returns to your income sector on 17th June, it will find no planetary pushback. This will be the first time since 2012 that a planet has been able to move through your income sector without resistance—and as the warrior planet of the cosmos, he will take advantage of this. While Mars is only here until 7th August, this will open the floodgates for the rest of the planets to follow in his wake, starting with the Sun’s return on 23rd August and ending with Venus’ departure on 14th October. These will be the most lucrative months of 2024, with the early and later times being the most lucrative. A few days later, Neptune will return to your financial sector on 22nd October to wrap things up before he and Saturn leave in early 2026.
The early and the latter months of the year are going to be the most romantically charged, but you have entered one of the most important years on the relationship front in your lifetime so far. It is also the start of a 20-year journey that you have been preparing for since as far back as March 2023. This is when Pluto—the planet of change and transformation—returned to your relationship sector for the first time in over 200 years. While Pluto was here for less than three months before retrograding back out again, this is when he began to plant the seeds for change and for real, authentic relationships. Pluto returned again in 2024, this time for seven months, before retrograding back out, only to return again on 20th November. This time, Pluto is here to stay until 2044. There isn’t a moment in 2025—or the next 20 years—when he won’t be there, in the background, guarding against complacency.
This is now your new normal, but there will be a lot more focus on your relationships when the Sun and the other planets move through. The year begins with Venus—the planet of love—in your relationship sector until 3rd November. The dwarf planet Ceres is also here. Until 24th February, she will be making her first deep dive in four years into your relationship needs and priorities. This is when the Sun—returning from 20th January to 18th February to put the solar spotlight on your relationships—and Mercury—who will return from 28th January to 15th February to do what he, as the planet of communication, does best—will take over. Ceres will be the last to leave, with her departure on 24th February, leaving Pluto on his own until the Sun, Venus, Mercury, and Mars return in early 2026.
Meanwhile, the year begins with Mercury still in your romantic sector. Until he leaves on 8th January, he will be working to give your heart a voice and to align your heart and your mind. While this should end all planetary activity until the most romantically charged months of the year begin on 30th October and run right through to early 2026, the love gods have a secret weapon up their sleeve. That secret weapon is the asteroid Juno—the queen of commitment—who will return for her first visit to your romantic sector in four years on 20th February. Juno will leave on 15th April, but by retrograding back out, which means that when she turns direct, she will return for a do-over from 1st October to 30 December, bringing the resolve to keep the romantic flame burning.
Because the Sun always spends the last 10 days and the first three weeks of every year in your work sector, the solar spotlight is always on your work situation, job matters, and options as you move into the New Year. This also creates the illusion that it is business as usual. It might not be until near the end of January that you will realize how much things have changed, releasing your need to keep your foot on the gas or reinvent the wheel. Instead, you now have a chance to take off your training wheels and do things on your own. Towards the end of November 2024, after 16 years, Pluto—the planet of change, transformation, and rebellion, and that is partial to drama and a bit of chaos every now and then—finally left. However, because the year always begins with the Sun here, this might not be immediately apparent.
This is especially true with Mercury returning from 8th January to 28th January, offering you a chance to get your head in the game, ideas on the table, and open communication lines. However, with the Sun leaving on 20th January, once Mercury leaves, your work sector will be empty. And apart from the Moon’s monthly visits, it will remain empty until Mars returns on 15th December to fire things up again. Aside from a few months in early 2023, this is the first time since 2007 that there hasn’t been continuous planetary activity on the job front all year, with a chance to finally take your foot off the gas. If there is one criticism that you could put on this year in terms of work and job matters, it is that compared to the past, things could be a bit boring, but in the best possible sense of the word. You have graduated and can now continue the journey on your own without drama or chaos. There are also changes on the career front with Uranus—the planet of surprise, synchronicity, and the unexpected—starting to transition out of your career sector. Uranus truly leaves in April 2026, after which he won’t return again for another eight decades. But before that, Uranus will leave on 7th July before retrograding back in on 8th November to tie up loose ends.
This will give the Sun, Venus, and Mercury time to return before Uranus leaves, and as he will be in his final months by then, this is when—after being here since 2019—many things will fall into place. A lack of planetary activity on the job front is your chance to pivot to the wider career landscape when the Sun moves through your career sector from 20th April to 21st May, Mercury from 11th May to 26th May, and Venus from 6th July to 5th July. Venus will leave just two days before Uranus leaves on 7th July, with the two able to bring the laws of attraction and synchronicity together in those final weeks.
