While there are some big, maybe even unprecedented, changes this year, things will remain remarkably stable. 2025 could even make your life more balanced than it already is, something that you may already be starting to notice—especially when it comes to a balance between work and play, with both sides of life’s fence bringing their A-game. After nearly 13 years and having first returned to your busy work sector in 2012, Neptune is getting ready to leave on 31st March, and Saturn, who has been here since March 2023, is getting ready to leave on 25th May. While both will return later in the year—Saturn on 1st September and Neptune on 22nd October—this only lasts for a few months before they leave again in early 2026, not to return. In their final months, there will be an extraordinary push from the faster-moving planets to pack as much into these final months as possible.
This starts with Venus’ return on 3rd January and continues right through to the end of April, marking a busy start to the year—especially with Mars, who left your career sector in November 2024, retrograding back in from 6th January to 18th April. Mars will be here, firing things up professionally—on the job front or for whatever keeps you busy and occupies your time—during what will not only be the busiest four months of the year but a landmark period for years to come. This is also your stepping stone. While Saturn leaves your work sector empty when he exits on 25th May, just a few weeks later, on 10th June, Jupiter—the planet of luck and expansion—returns to your career sector and begins your biggest year for professional growth and expansion in over a decade.
This is not only an extremely important year on a professional level, but a year that is going to keep you busy, which is where that all-important balance already mentioned comes in. To help keep things balanced, by the time you move into the New Year, Pluto—the planet of change and transformation—will have been back in a fun, playful, romantic, and creatively charged part of your chart for six weeks. And he’s not just here for the rest of the year, but until 2044. Helping to focus on the playful, creative, and adventurous side of life’s fence, Jupiter is not only in your sector of adventure, travel, learning, and discovery until 10th June; it’s in partnership with Pluto. Even when Jupiter leaves, less than a month later—and with the Sun already here—Uranus returns for his first visit in eight decades, closely aligned with Pluto from the start.
You have a mixed bag of influences on both sides of the financial fence this year, bringing the expected and the unexpected on both fronts. In your financial sector, the side of the financial fence that focuses on what you do with your money and how you manage it, moving into the New Year with Uranus—the planet of surprise, synchronicity, and the unexpected—in your financial sector is a given. Since his return in 2019, Uranus has been keeping money matters on their true path, helping those sudden shifts and changes stay on a steady course—like the autopilot on a plane. Uranus begins the year in retrograde motion, which is often the case. Until he turns direct on 31st January, you are still reviewing last year’s financial journey.
Even then, things won’t really become active on the financial front until the Sun returns from 20th April to 21st May, the point in each year when the solar spotlight will always shift onto your financial situation and money matters. What follows is what you would expect at this time of year, with Mercury returning from 11th May to 26th May with the money smarts needed to get your head in the game. This will leave Uranus back on his own but held back by a retrograde phase earlier in the year, with Venus yet to return. Venus will eventually return from 6th June to 5th July, and this timing will prove critical. Venus isn’t interested in financial housekeeping, preferring to focus on what she—the planet of money, desire, and attraction—can attract. What makes the timing significant is that two days after she leaves, so does Uranus, with his departure on 7th July leaving this sector empty for the first time in five years.
Uranus will retrograde back in on 8th November, but only for a few months; he leaves again in April 2026 and won’t return for another eight decades. It is in that gap, which runs from 7th July to 8th November, that Mars moves through your income sector—from 22nd September to 5th November. This will be the first time in five years that any planet has been able to move through this sector without pushback from Uranus or a need to focus on the other side of the financial fence. As the planet of passion and the warrior planet of the cosmos, Mars is the perfect planet to exploit this, creating what could be more than the most lucrative months of 2025—it could be the most lucrative in several years. This will give the rest of the planets, which won’t finish moving through until 12th December, a foothold.
Because the Sun, Venus, and Mercury each follow a similar pattern year after year, there are certain times of each year when there is going to be a stronger focus on matters of the heart or your relationships. These are the ordinary seasons, with a lot of emphasis on heart-based concerns and all things romantic in the early months of each year. Then, around March and April, the focus shifts to your relationships. While this is still the case this year, the difference in 2025 is that the focus is never going to shift off matters of the heart. And once attention turns to your relationships, it is going to stay there, too. In short, this is no ordinary year on either the romantic or relationship front. Instead, this is a gateway year into a major new journey on both fronts. On the romantic front, this is thanks to Pluto—the planet of change and transformation— who returns to your romantic sector in November 2024, where he will stay until 2044.
For the next 20 years, as the Sun and the faster planets come and go, Pluto will keep the focus on matters of the heart and will be working to ensure that the days of being in a romantic rut are over. To start with, Pluto will have help, especially in January and February. While Venus, the planet of love, will leave your romantic sector on 3rd January and won’t return until early 2026, she will have spent nearly four weeks with Pluto by then. So will the dwarf planet Ceres, who returned with Venus in December 2024 and began her first deep dive into your heart’s needs and priorities in four years. The Sun will move through from 20th January to 18th February and Mercury from 28th January to 15th February, but it is not until Ceres leaves on 24th February that Pluto will be back on his own. Apart from the Moon’s monthly visits, this will continue for the rest of the year.
However, by then, something special will be developing on the relationship front, far beyond Venus’ return to your relationship sector on 4th February. Normally here for just 24 days, Venus will leave on 27th March but by retrograding back out, returning for a do-over from 1st May to 6th June. Mercury—the planet of communication—will do the same, returning from 3rd March to 30th March, only to retrograde back out before returning again from 16th April to 11th May. All this is preparation for Neptune’s return on 31st March and Saturn’s return on 25th May, which begins some of the most powerful relationship years in a lifetime.
While there are big changes on the job and career fronts this year, this is both an overlap and a surge in the two. As you reach one of the most pivotal years on the career front in over a decade, you are also moving into the pinnacle year for everything that has been building on the job front for over 12 years, especially the last few years. In addition, you have the usual parade of planets that move through your work and career sectors each year. If you were to take a snapshot of where things stand on 1st January 2025, everything would be the same, and it would be business as usual. However, within days, that will change and an extraordinary series of events will be underway, turning 2025 into the year that everything until now has led up to and everything from now will lead on from.
The year begins with Neptune—the planet of hopes and dreams—in your work sector, as he has been since 2012, along with Saturn, who has been here since March 2023. For nearly two years, they have been working as a team, with Saturn giving you the resolve to do whatever it takes for as long as it takes in order to turn Neptune’s dreams into reality. They are also both getting ready to leave—Neptune on 31st March and Saturn on 25th May—though this won’t be goodbye just yet. Saturn will retrograde back in on 1st September before leaving in February 2026. Neptune will retrograde back in on 22nd October, before leaving in January 2026 and not returning again in our lifetime. While they are gone, everything is set to change on the career front, with preparations for this starting within days of moving into the New Year.
Helping to get Neptune and Saturn’s final months underway will be Venus’ return to your work sector on 3rd January. While she will leave on 4th February, she will return again from 27th March to 1st May. Mercury will do the same, returning from 15th February to 3rd March, only to return again from 30th March to 16th April, during the critical months when Saturn and Neptune will be transitioning out. As this is happening, Mars—who left your career sector in November 2024—will retrograde back into it on 6th January and not leave again until 18th April. He will be here, firing up your professional passions and competitive spirit during those critical months. Mars is also back for his own mission. He is here to help you prepare for Jupiter—the planet of luck and expansion—as he returns to your career sector on 10th June and begins your biggest year for professional growth and expansion in over a decade. This is who Saturn and Neptune will return to find when they retrograde back into your work sector to tie up loose ends later in the year.
