What makes 2025 such a massive year for change isn’t that the Sun, Mercury, Venus, and Mars are on the move. This is always the case and even when they—apart from the Sun—turn retrograde, it is only ever for a few weeks or months before they are back on the move. It is the slower outer planets that don’t move and will remain a constant fixture for years if not decades who are on the move this year. This is the background; it stays the same while everything else keeps moving. If even one outer planet leaves a sign and returns to another, this indicates a year of significant change, changing the landscape itself. What makes 2025 such an extraordinary year is that it is not just one of the outer planets that are on the move but all of them. Every single one—and it has already started!
Pluto, who had been in your sector of adventure, travel, learning, and discovery since 2008 began making moves in early 2023, transitioning out and returning to your career sector. After a frustratingly half-hearted attempt, Pluto gave it another shot last year and finally managed to spend over seven months in your career sector before retrograding back out again. By the time you move into the New Year, Pluto has been back in your career sector for six weeks. He’ll be hanging out here for the next 20 years. This has seen Pluto partner with Jupiter in your income sector, with the planet of luck and expansion’s quest for income growth and expansion not ending until 10th June. This is when Jupiter returns to your communication sector, beginning a big year for all aspects of communication.
The other big moves involve Saturn and Neptune, who leave your sector of friendship, teamwork, and networking and return to a nostalgic, reflective part of your chart—Neptune on 31st March and Saturn on 25th May. Saturn will retrograde back out again on 1st September and Neptune on 22nd October, as they begin to transition, winding down your current three decades-long Saturn cycle and spending more time on your dreams. The last major move comes on 7th July, when—after nearly six years in Taurus—Uranus finally leaves. This is the planet of personal truth, but Uranus also allows you to work through the laws of synchronicity to put things on the right path. Its exit will see Uranus begin his transition into your income sector. From the start he will team up with Pluto in your career sector, making this not just a big year on both fronts but until he leaves in 2033.

As you move into 2025, Jupiter remains in retrograde motion until 4th February, so you might not see much movement, although doors will be open to the past, second chances, and untapped potential. Later in the year, Sun’s return to your income sector on 21st May puts the solar spotlight on your income situation, matters, and options. This is when the push to make the most of Jupiter’s final weeks before leaving on 10th June will kick in. And Mercury adds his smart head for money to the mix when he moves through from 26th May to 9th June. With Jupiter leaving a day later and the Sun leaving on 21st June, this will leave your income sector empty for the first time in 13 months—and it should stay that way.
This should be as good as it gets, but this will move to a whole new level later in the year. when Venus—the planet of money, desire, and attraction—had been held back by a retrograde phase earlier in the year. She finally returns on 5th July, working to create the most lucrative weeks of the year as she always does.
However, the game changer will come two days later, on 7th July when Uranus—the planet of surprise, synchronicity, and the unexpected—will return to your income sector for the first time in eight decades. Uranus will retrograde back out on 8th November but will return in April 2026, not leaving until 2033. To have Venus here at the birth of a new era and in time to capitalize on the nearly 13 months Jupiter—the planet of luck and expansion—has just spent here, could have major implications.
There are two distinct but overlapping chapters on both the romantic and relationship fronts. The first is the ordinary planetary activity, which—on the romantic front—will run from Mars’ return to your romantic sector on 17th June to Venus’ departure on 14th October. On the relationship front, this will run from Mars’ return to your relationship sector on 22nd September to Mercury’s departure on 25th December. Before that, there will be a Full Moon in your romantic sector on 14th March and another in your relationship sector on 13th May, giving both a boost. However, there are some larger, overlapping themes in the works.
The first is on the relationship front, where you begin the year with the asteroid Juno—the queen of commitment, especially commitment to your relationships—in your relationship sector. Although she leaves on 20th February, she will retrograde back in again from 15th April to 1st October. Juno will still be here when Mars returns to your relationship sector on 22nd September, providing an opportunity for the planet of passion and the warrior planet of the cosmos to take over. Meanwhile, the Full Moon in your romantic sector on 14th March holds a clue to what is happening on the romantic front.
This Full Moon always falls halfway between the Sun’s last visit to your romantic sector and the next. Coming at the least active point in the year on the romantic front, this is designed to boost matters of the heart. However, this will be no ordinary Full Moon. This is a total lunar eclipse, which can only happen when a Full Moon falls close to one of the lunar nodes. This time, it’s the South Node, whose return on 12th January also turns a New Moon on 22nd September into a solar eclipse. This will be the second of two ordinary New Moons, with the first on 23rd August and just after the Sun’s return. The South Node is here until July 2025, with more eclipses next year and the element of fate now in the mix.
And now for the year that you have been waiting and preparing for since at least the early months of 2023. That was when Pluto—the planet of change and transformation—made his brief appearance in your career sector, for the first time in our lifetime. Although Pluto was here for less than three months before retrograding back out, he was able to plant seeds and leave behind a sense of change in the air. Last year, Pluto returned again, this time for seven months before retrograding back out. This brief absence lasted only 11 weeks, with Pluto returning at the end of November 2024. By the time you move into the New Year, Pluto has only been back for six weeks and he is not on his own. In early December, Venus and the dwarf planet Ceres both returned on the same day.
Venus fuels your professional confidence, attracts opportunities, and steers things in a lucrative direction. Ceres begins her first deep dive into your professional needs and priorities in four years. This couldn’t be more important or timely, for Pluto is here now until 2044, and 2025 is the foundation year of a whole new era. Venus will leave on 3rd January and won’t return again this year, making it important to listen to your heart as you move into the New Year. The Sun, as always, will put the solar spotlight on your career and professional situation, matters, and options when he moves through from 20th January to 18th February. And when Mercury returns from 28th January to 15th February, you have the chance to get your head in the game, ideas on the table and open lines of communication.
It is not until Ceres leaves on 24th February that Pluto will be on its own. And, aside from the Moon’s monthly visits, things will stay that way for the rest of the year.
